We'll have lots more soon, but in the meantime... Happy New Year! from Judith & Robin
Merry Christmas! A gif for you :)
How to give a Windy app + some gift badges!
If you would like to give a Windy app or bundle as a Christmas gift, we've made some badges for you! Just click on any of the badges above to get a jpeg that you can attach to an email.
If you'd like to print out a little certificate, we have a printable one included here.
There are two ways to send apps:
1. If you are an iPhone user, you can send a paid app with your phone like this or like this
2. If you cannot send a paid app, then you can send a gift card from the App Store, Amazon, or whichever service provider your giftee uses.
We've made some badges that you can attach to an email to your recipient, letting them know that either you have sent them a gift certificate and would like to recommend Windy & friends or that you've sent them one of our apps!
Please let us know if you have any questions or tips about gifting apps — we'd love to here from you.
Gift certificates for digital gifts
This is another item on our advent calendar — it's something I've needed more than a few times: gift certificates for digital gifts.
The great thing about buying a digital gift, like an audio book, independent movie or set of apps (all of which I've bought for people) is that they don't take up space, perfect for those people on my list who don't want any more "things", just experiences. They are also great last-minute gifts. However, there's not a nice way to present it — you don't want to just tell the person next to the Christmas tree, you want them to see their gift right away! Gifting apps is the trickiest — you can send a general gift certificate directly from the app store, but how do you recommend one in particular? I've emailed people lists, but it doesn't feel very gift-y.
It's important to let people know to check their email, as they might miss an emailed certificate if they don't know to look for it.
Here is a set of printable gift certificates to show off your purchase with a little style and give the important information to your giftee. These will also let your recipient know that they should check their email, which is important, since people often miss emails from the companies providing the download if they're not looking out for them. Finally, this is a great option for a super-last-minute gift, if you need one :)
Do you have any request or suggestions for a certificate? Let us know in the comments, we'd love to hear from you.
Something to watch!
This is our advent gift for December 20, from our online advent calendar.
We've learned so much about stop-motion this year. Please enjoy some of our favourite holiday stop-motion animations! These are international productions, but as they are told wordlessly, anyone may enjoy them! (These are all appropriate for young children, though we cannot guarantee YouTube's ad content.)
The Mitten, 1967
A sweet story about a little girl whose mitten turns into the puppy she's always dreamed of having is stylish and surprising.
Pat & Matt Decorate their Christmas tree
Pat and Matt run into quite a bit of trouble getting their Christmas tree together, but how they end up decorating their tree is pretty great.
